Miss Nellie's Hospitality :: The Carter Family

You can count on a great welcome and care from Miss Nellie's host family Rachael & Brad Carter. The dream of Miss Nellie's Bed & Breakfast in the guesthouse at 1633 Cedar Crest Drive began the first time Rachael saw it. In 2009, after completing renovations of the guest house, the dream became real.
Brad & Rachael moved into the main house in 2003. Since then, they've added three beautiful girls to their family who love to help welcome guests...and deliver breakfast.
Then who is "Miss Nellie"?

Nellie Reese and her husband, J.C. Reese, built and lived at 1633 Cedar Crest more than 60 years ago. Miss Nellie is remembered as quite a character. Having grown up in a dug-out house, she never did like sleeping above ground. In the main house, the Reese's old bedroom is located in a one room basement right in the center. Miss Nellie took personal care of her rose bushes and enjoyed a raw onion each day.
Miss Nellie still has family nearby: two of her grandsons live on the same block where Miss Nellie's Bed & Breakfast is located. Their father and mother (Miss Nellie's son) were the first residents of the guest house where the bed and breakfast operates.
The Reeses had strong ties to Abilene and Abilene Christian University where J.C. served as a member of the board of trustees and was a local land developer.
